Hassan Whiteside played for the Miami Heat for 5 seasons, appearing on this list for three of those five.
The Miami Heat only entered the NBA in 1988-89, but they have already won three championships with some of the best players in NBA history playing for their franchise. Hassan Whiteside, 2017, 14.1 RPG
Whiteside was selected in the second round of the 2010 Draft by the Kings. He only played two seasons with them before spending the next two seasons out of the NBA. He returned in 2014-15, playing 48 games with the Heat. In that season, he averaged 10.0 rebounds over just 24 minutes per game. Whiteside averaged 33 minutes per game in 2016-17, which helped him lead the NBA by averaging 14.1 rebounds per game. He also finished fifth in Defensive Player of the Year voting that season.
Hassan Whiteside, 2016, 11.8 RPG
Whiteside’s true breakout season came in 2015-16. He appeared in 73 games, 43 of which he started. In addition to his average of 11.8 rebounds per game, he averaged 14.2 points and a league-leading 3.7 blocks. Whiteside made All-Defensive Second Team that season and finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Rony Seikaly, 1992, 11.8 RPG
The Heat selected Seikaly with the ninth pick in the 1988 Draft. In his second season in the league, Seikaly won the Most Improved Player award by averaging 16.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game in 1989-90. That began a streak of five straight seasons in which Seikaly averaged at least 10.3 rebounds per game. In the 1991-92 season, he averaged 11.8 rebounds over 79 games. Seikaly averaged 35.4 minutes per game that season, which would end up being the highest mark of his career.
Rony Seikaly, 1993, 11.8 RPG
Seikaly followed up his stellar performance in 1991-92 by averaging 11.8 rebounds per game again in 1992-93. That season, he also averaged 17.1 points and 1.2 blocks per game. Seikaly spent the first six seasons of his career with the Heat. Across 439 regular-season games with the franchise, he averaged 15.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. Following his time with the Heat, Seikaly played for the Warriors, Magic and Nets.
Hassan Whiteside, 2019, 11.3 RPG
The 2018-19 season was Whiteside’s final campaign with the Heat. He was once again a double-double machine, averaging 12.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Following his time with the Heat, Whiteside played one season each for the Trail Blazers, Kings, and Jazz. Over 324 career regular-season games with the Heat, Whiteside averaged 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. For his entire career, Whiteside averaged 10.8 rebounds per game.
